Terms of service

These terms are an agreement between you and BookStages, a Masters in Clarity company, covering bookstages.ai and the Stage Agent application. By requesting a pilot spot or using the service, you agree to them. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm you have authority to do so.

What the service does

Stage Agent identifies speaking opportunities — conferences, keynotes, podcasts, online summits and association meetings — that appear to fit the profile you provide, and delivers a set of them to your queue on a weekly schedule, each with a way to reach out and a draft pitch. You review each one and decide whether to send outreach. Outreach is sent in your name, by you.

What the service does not do

We do not guarantee that you will be booked, invited, paid, or replied to. We are not your agent, we do not negotiate on your behalf, and we do not represent the organizations we identify. Opportunity details, contacts and deadlines come from public sources and third parties and can be incomplete, out of date or wrong — verify anything you rely on. Nothing here is legal, tax or business advice.

The pilot test

Pilot accounts run for 15 days at no charge, with no credit card required, and are offered at our discretion to a limited number of testers. Pilot features may change, break or be withdrawn during the test — that is what a test is for. We may end a pilot account at any time. If you continue after the pilot, paid subscription terms and pricing will be presented to you before any charge.

Your responsibilities

• Give accurate information about yourself and your speaking work, and keep your login secure.
• Review every pitch before you send it. You are responsible for what goes out under your name, including compliance with anti-spam laws such as CAN-SPAM and, where applicable, GDPR.
• Do not resell, scrape, export in bulk, or repurpose our opportunity data or contacts for any use other than your own speaking outreach.
• Do not reverse engineer the service, interfere with it, or use it to harass anyone or send deceptive messages.

Content and ownership

You keep ownership of the material you provide — your bio, topics, talk descriptions and uploads. You grant us a licence to use it to run the service for you. We keep ownership of the software, our matching and scoring methods, the interface and the BookStages and Stage Agent names and marks. Draft pitches produced for your account are yours to use. Feedback you send us may be used to improve the product without obligation to you; if you give us a testimonial, we will only publish it with your permission.

Disclaimers and limits

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any result will be achieved.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, neither party is liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost bookings, lost revenue or lost data. Our total liability arising out of the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

Suspension, termination and changes

You may stop using the service at any time and ask us to close your account. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these terms or if we discontinue the service. We may update these terms; if a change is material we will update the date above and notify account holders by email. Continuing to use the service after a change means you accept it.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules, and any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts. If any provision is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
